Slope’s Winter Academic Report
This 15-page report breaks down how we measure mastery, what the data is showing, and why your hero’s growth is worth celebrating.
Slope’s Challenge Donut
The Challenge Donut is a visual way to help children understand how learning works.
• Comfort Zone (center of the donut): Things we already know well and can teach easily.
• Challenge Zone (the donut itself): Where learning happens. It may feel tricky or uncomfortable, but this is where growth occurs.
• Panic Zone (outside the donut): Tasks that feel overwhelming because the skills or tools aren’t there yet.
Every hero’s donut looks different — some challenge zones are small, others are large. Our goal is to grow each child’s challenge zone so they build confidence, resilience, and the capacity to do hard things.
