Founder & Head of School

Matt brings 10+ years of school leadership experience. He studied Economics and Music at BYU. His first job out of college was at Goldman Sachs. Then he spent 4+ years helping to grow the Acton Academy network as their COO.

Chief Operating Officer

Una spent the last decade at Bain & Company before joining Slope. She earned a BA in Economics & Management at Oxford. She oversees operations at all our campuses ensuring smooth, effective school systems and execution.

Advisory Board Member

Lizzy is a former attorney and host of The Lizzy Jensen Show podcast. As a parent of five Slope students, she plays a key role in sharing and extending Slope School’s culture and values with families.

Co-Founder

Maria holds a Master’s in Violin Performance and has 24+ years of teaching experience. He has performed with or recorded for Andrea Bocelli, James Taylor, Michael Buble, Josh Groban, Itzhak Perlman, Alfie Boe, and the Transiberian Orchestra, among others. She has performed regularly with the Utah Symphony, Seattle Symphony, Hawaii Opera Theater, Austin, Symphony, and Ballet West. Teaching has brought her across the ocean to BYU Hawaii as Adjunct Professor of Violin and Chamber Music.

Provo Campus Director & Discovery Lead Guide

Sarah has eight years of experience as an educator in Canada, China, and the U.S. She holds a bachelor's degree in Education and a master's degree in 21st Century Education & Leadership.

Provo Campus Director & Adventure Lead Guide

Travis Lish helped found Slope’s middle school program back in 2019. He earned a Bachelor’s in Psychology from BYU-Idaho and a Masters in Public Administration from BYU. He left Slope for 4 years where he worked at an incubator that helped more than 300 teen-entrepreneuers launch their own businesses. He has also worked for Edtech company, SchoolAI.

Alpine Campus Director & Spark Lead Guide

Emma graduated from BYU in 2021 with a degree in  Neuroscience. She has 5+ years of Pre-K–6 experience and began her career as an elementary school STEM coordinator. She holds a PMI Montessori diploma. 

Provo Campus Director & Curiosity Lead Guide

Jenny McKellar holds a degree in Child Development from BYU-Idaho in 2016 and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Ashford University in 2020 . She is Montessori-certified and has eight years of teaching experience and 5+ years at Slope School.

Millcreek Campus Director & Curiosity Lead Guide

Kim has 12 years experience as a Socratic Guide and Montessori expert across multiple age groups with a background in nursing and ballet.

Millcreek Campus Director & Spark Lead Guide

Shannon has 22 years of K–3 teaching experience in Utah and Colorado. She joined Slope School this past year and holds a BA and Master’s in Education.
